Light in the night

When driving at night, light from the moon, streetlights or reflections create little island in an otherwise dark sea. Islands that somehow can feel inviting, but estranging as well. Does the light offer comfort? Or would you rather stay in the dark? I take a lot of inspiration from artists like Simon Stalenhag and Edward Hopper and so I set out on creating some scenes that evoke mystery, solace or discomfort. All paintings were done in Procreate.
